2009 NFL Draft Thoughts

I’m no Mel Kiper Jr or Todd McShay, but here are my 10 Thoughts on the 2009 NFL Draft.
- I’m not sold on Matthew Stafford as the #1 Overall selection. Young Quarterback, bad team, #1 Overall selection… Smells like a bust.
- This will be an Offensive Tackle heavy draft with 5 or 6 coming off the board in the First Round. Who wants to bet on the Over/Under Bust? I’m setting the Line at 2.
- Aaron Curry is a talent, but he’s not a pass rusher.
- Josh Freeman is not worth a #1.
- All teams that don’t need a QB, shouldn’t draft one #1. I’m looking at you Jacksonville and Washington.
- Percy Harvin is the second coming of Peter Warrick.
- Remember Rhett Bomar? NFL teams do… He’s the Second Day steal.
- Biggest draft winner, New England Patriots. They essentially got a late #1 for a backup QB who won’t be starting after Week 7.
- Biggest draft loser, Sam Bradford. For his sake, I hope he doesn’t get hurt.
- Biggest fantasy impact, Brandon Pettigrew.
NFL Draft Weekend is always a lot of fun. Get your popcorn ready!
