Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Pickups: Week 6

Remember to make the necessary adjustments for Bye teams this week: Bills, Titans, Chiefs, and Steelers.

QB: Hopefully you got a piece of the Orton-fest against the Lions.  This week it’s Gus Frerotte against the Lions.  I’m also still a big fan of Chad Pennington as a fantasy backup.

RB: I guess I wasn’t too off with Rudi Johnson, Kevin Smith is still the long term guy there.  Justin Fargas coming off injury is a good pickup.  Tim Hightower and Leron McClain are still guys that need to be on a roster.  Mewelde Moore played well, but he’s only a short-term filler.

WR: Brandon Stokley is an immediate add with the injury to Eddie Royal.  Another interesting pickup is Kevin Curtis who should be coming off of injury this week.  Also, if Bobby Engram is still available, grab him now.

TE:  Visanthe Shiancoe has a matchup against the Lions.  He’s worth a shot if you need a TE this week.  If you’re looking long-term, Bo Scaife doesn’t have a lot of upside, but he’s pretty consistent (he’s on Bye this week).

K: Shaun Suisham against the Rams sounds like a nice play.

If you’re falling out of playoff contention, NOW is the time you need to start making moves.  For all you players out there that think you’re still fine, here’s an easy test: if you’re 1-4 or 0-5, it’s definitely time to make some moves.  You can probably find one player each week to plug into your lineup, remember that.

If you’re dwelling over a trade, shoot me an email or post the trade and I’ll let you know what I think.
