Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Pickups: Week 5

Check out who’s on Bye this week; Browns, Jets, Raiders, Rams.
QB: Lots of good matchups out there this week for QBs on the Wire. Kyle Orton has the Lions, Brian Griese has the Broncos, and Gus Frerotte has the Saints. If you’re looking long term, I’d grab Jason Campbell or Chad Pennington.
RB: Looks like I was wrong about Rudi Johnson, he looks like the guy now in Detriot. Oops, my bad. Go grab him if you can.
Deuce McAllister is back, he’s a must add as he’ll get most of the goaline activity. Same for Tim Hightower or Leron McClain.
WR: Bobby Engram and Kevin Curtis are under the radar due to injury. Grab them now, but wait a week before inserting into your lineup.
For plays this week, Kevin Walter, Steve Breaston (if Boldin is injured), Lance Moore, Patrick Crayton, Bernard Berrian, or Mushin Muhammad will do just fine.
TE: Quickly grab Anthony Fasano if he’s available. Owen Daniels and John Carlson are also good pickups. For a sneaky one week play, take a look at Benjamin Watson.
K: Robbie Gould, Rian Lindell, and John Kasay have favorable matchups this week.
I know a lot players have been unlucky and are 1-3, but don’t fret. Be strong and steady the ship, there is still a lot of time left in the season. Remember, your main purpose is to get in the playoffs!
