I don’t know much about UFC, but for the most part, the night was pretty boring.  I’ll recap what I remember.

MacDonald vs Maia

Maia won by submission, using a rear-naked choke to finish off MacDonald.

Florian vs Huerta

I don’t remember much about this fight.  All I know is that Florian won by unanimous decision.

Emerson vs Gamburyan

This was the highlight of the night for me and the match only lasted a few seconds!  The midget Gamburyan got rocked with a hook and a few ground and pound shots to the dome before the fight was stopped.

Cheick Kongo vs Dan Evenson

Looking at Evenson, he had no chance.  The fatty didn’t even look like he had trained.  Kongo dominated the fight winning with a TKO after a straight right leveled Evenson.

Lesnar vs Herring

This fight started off with a bang as Lesnar leveled Herring with a straight right.  Too bad that was the only thing that happened the entire fight.  Lesnar looked lost on the ground and Herring couldn’t do much.  Basically, it was a boring wrestling match, which Lesnar won by unanimous decision.

Fitch vs St Pierre

All I have to say is that Fitch can take a beating!  St Pierre, or GSP as he’s called, wailed on Fitch all fight long.  Fitch was rocked more than three times by GSP and everyone around me thought that Fitch was done each time, but he doesn’t have any quit in him.  GSP ended up winning by unanimous decision after dominating the fight as Fitch was just a punching bag most of the night.  After the fight BJ Penn challenged GSP to a fight…  I was wondering why BJ was there…  Must be nice to have UFC fly you up to just talk smack!

Overall, not a bad UFC outing for me.  $10 for admission to the bar, $5 for parking, and $20 or so for drinks.  $35 total for roughtly three hours of entertainment; that’s not too bad considering I spent that at the bar last night in one hour!
